A'pieu Volcanic Roller

I originally wanted to wait until I uploaded my video review on this product before I made this blog posted so that I could link the video here. But I need a few more days before I can export it, and it's been over a month since I posted my first video and post. The more I delay this, the more I'm worried that I'll just never get back to this. But I actually really liked working on my first review and I've been itching to get this out so I figured that I would just post the blog review first and then get the video out when I could.

So while I was trying to satisfy my shopping addiction by essentially window shopping online, I came across the "A'pieu Volcanic Roller" and thought that it sounded really unique and "interesting."

It's basically an volcanic rock that you roll on your face to absorb any oil and sebum you have without irritating your skin and helping with black heads, large pores, and sebum issues.

To be honest, this product did work, but it seemed more gimmicky than anything. I used it a few times and I didn't really notice a difference in my pores. Keep in mind though, I have eczema and I have a very dry combination skin, which I'm starting to think is actually my skin telling me that I need to make a change in my skincare routine rather than it being something that's actually normal, but I went over my face with an oil wipe after using the roller for a good few minutes and there was still a very "decent" amount of oil to be absorbed.

The product itself felt pretty nice and although at first it left a little bit of powder on my face, it was probably because it was being used for the first time as I did not notice that after a while of rolling or during my 2nd and 3rd use. It's also very simple to use. You literally just roll it over your oily spots until they've been wiped up and when it's time to clean it, you let it sit for 10 minutes in warm water or at least until it stops producing bubbles.

I cleaned my roller after every use but after further research, I found that you can actually wait until 4-6 uses before you start to clean it; which means I might've accidentally shortened the life of my volcanic roller, whoops!! Good thing the package comes with two rollers!

Note: After filming, I did more research on the product and I found that it's actually recommend to be used OVER MAKEUP instead of blotting sheets. This does make me concerned about staining the roller, but I would agree that it probably wouldn't move your makeup around as much. As a result, I asked my sister to test out the second roller for me because her skin is more oily than mine and she tried it on top of some light eye makeup. The roller did get stained a little and it picked up a good amount of oil but we both agreed that blotting sheets did a better job at it and was probably more convenient to use.

I did like the fact that this had a handle though, it felt a little more sanitary than me using a sheet and rubbing it all over my face but ultimately, even though they give you two rollers, you can get pack of 70 blotting sheets for the same price and it'll work better. Luckily, if you're interested in trying this out, it's still very affordable.
