1. De-clutter (The Magical Art of tidying up a̶l̶l̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶s̶h̶i̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶'̶v̶e̶ ̶accumulated ̶ by Marie Kondo)
2. Bake [You bough a pretty hand mixer for a reason!! USE IT!]
3. Cook! [DON'T EAT IT ALL BY YOURSELF THOUGH!! SHARE!]
4. Keep track of your finances and spending (o̶n̶ ̶p̶a̶p̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶g̶u̶i̶l̶t̶ ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶i̶n̶t̶o̶ ̶s̶p̶e̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶l̶e̶s̶s̶}
5. Finish filling out your journal (WOAHHHHHHHHHH WE'RE HALFWAY THERE!!!)
6. Learn to be alone (Healthily!! In a don't-sleep-in-until-6-pm-and-after way)
7. Change sleeping schedule to that of a regular person's. (This is asking a lot of you, I know, but it's necessary)
8. Get used to contacts (Your sister's wedding is in January and you're not getting Lasik any time soon.)
9. Maintain good eyebrows (It costs $8-$10 to thread them, not including tip. Remember that!)
10. Have at least 8 cups of water a day (8 cups a day means your life is slowly getting together!!)
11. Read at least 1 new book a month (2 a month and skipping a month does not count)
12. Successfully wear make-up and apply it. (So that you have excuses to buy more)
13. Do homework at Barnes & Noble or coffee shops more. (BOOKSTORE AESTHETIC HERE WE COME!)
14. Work on website and Youtube channel.
Current Progress as of May 30, 2016
1. Not very well, but we still have until July 15 to move out of the dorm. A little over two months to de-clutter, donate, or trash any thing you don't want, need, or use anymore.
2. So far we've only used the hand mixer once. Haven't taken it out since then BUT I have time this summer to work my baking skills so hopefully we'll bring it out again soon.
3. NICEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Cooking at least once a week and every day this summer because I'm not on a summer meal plan so I need to fend for myself by cooking actual meat and ramen. (It counts, I swear.)
4. This went on a hiatus for a while, when I didn't want to look at my spendings. But that's the whole point of this, to not spend my money recklessly. So it's started up again.
5. As of today, there is only 1/3 of my journal left to fill. However, the main concern for this one right now is, I'm having trouble finding a journal that I like enough to be my next personal journal.
6. I moved in for the summer without crying this time! Even though I was spending two whole days by myself!! So I'm going to count that as progress. For reference sake though, I'm normally fine by myself for long periods of time. But I don't like to do things alone so I will normally coop myself up in my room without interacting with people outside of classes. That needs to change, I need to be able to do things without needing someone to accompany me.
7. This is actually getting better!! It was still horrible throughout the semester but now that it's summer, I have more time to adjust my sleeping schedule. Though the few days leading up to this blog have been pretty bad sleeping hours because I've been working on setting up this site and editing the first video for the Youtube channel.
8. Haven't even started, my eyes have still been dry lately, so I'm not comfortable with trying to wear them again yet. But this will definitely start this summer. I have no other choice and no better time to start since I won't have to wear them for full school days.
9. Impressively staying updated! They're not as on fleek as they were when I got them threaded, but they're better than they are when I don't take care of them.
10. I don't even know anymore. For the first 2 months of 2016, I would actually tally down on my calendar to make sure that I was slowly making it become a habit, but I got tired so I stopped. I'm still drinking a lot of water though, just not sure how many cups it is a day.
11. Nope, not at all. It's a lot harder to find a good book now for some reason. I'm just not excited for any of the ones I come across.
12. Getting better!! That's what this blog is for. So I can practice my skills and give my honest opinions about how I feel about the products I'm using.
13. Okay, so not done yet. But!!! I have been studying at coffee shops more!! It helps that there is now about 5 coffee shops on/around campus.
14. Today I can officially check this off. Because this is the first post for the website now that it's gone live and the first review and first Video will be posted soon.
End of the Year Review
Done but not enough, I managed to get rid of a lot of stuff but nowhere close to where I want to be. If anything, I've actually gotten worse now that I'm into bullet journal-ing. Also I've been collecting more makeup, I have a few that I got for reviewing and others that I got because I wanted them but that's basically replacing everything I got rid of so changes need to happen again.
Technically, yes. However, I've only used my mixer a total of 3 times, though I have used the whisks for them to replace the fact that I don't own normal whisks, that counts...right?
Done, hella. I have integrated cooking into my life now regularly, now if only I could do the same with the gym.
I pretty much stopped doing this as soon as I started up again. My only entry after my mid-year update was 5 days later and that was it.
Um...no. Since I knew I was running out of room in my journal, I put it on hold while I searched for my next, a feat that was surprisingly harder than I though. I love collecting journals, especially since I've started using them a lot more, but since I was replacing a diary, I was particularly picky with it. It was very important to me that the journal be one that I would be comfortable with in exactly every way and it took a while to find that. By then, a lot had happened so I didn't feel like going back to write it all in and I got lazy. Though I really am almost done, I got myself back on track. It's just that I haven't felt like sitting down for a while to write in it, I tend to do long entries about events and I get too lazy to do that some times.
I would say that summer by myself wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, but I will say that I don't think I've fully gotten comfortable with being alone for long periods of time.
Nope. As of the time I'm writing this, (2/23/17) I will say that lately I've been sleeping when the sun hasn't risen yet...which sometimes is only half an hour before it does. But in 2016? I didn't do well at this at all.
I can now say that it doesn't take me as long to put in contacts. But my eyes get dry very easily and it's just hard to deal with some times. Then there's the fact that I sometimes just don't prefer to get up a little bit earlier to put on contacts when I can just easily walk out with glasses.
I have been keeping them decent, but honestly I have no idea how to shape them most of the time.
Getting there, I stopped keeping track because it was a lot of work but I think I get at least a good amount of water every day.
Nope, I don't think I found any good books I wanted to read until the end of December. I think that was when I finally read a book.
Getting better!! Mascara, eyeliner, and falsies are still hard but I can at least get everything else!
Unfortunately, not in 2016. Actually I started doing this in January 2017, I haven't been lately just because some times it's just easier to work from home or go to my friends' dorm which is right next door to Barnes and Noble.
I believe I currently have 3 videos posted? It's been awhile partly because I didn't buy my editing software until a few months later and then I filmed some videos that I knew were gonna take awhile to edit it and I got lazy with it. But I'm starting up again. I have about 3 videos I need to edit and upload!
That's all for 2016!! I'm working on my goal list for 2017 which should be posted in a few days so keep an eye out for that.
